Insurance & Payment

I am currently In-Network with the following Insurance Companies and can be seen as either a Specialist or as your Primary physician unless otherwise noted:

  • Blue Cross/Blue Shield
  • Cigna - Cigna does not allow Naturopaths to be Primary Care, so I must be seen as a Specialist
  • MVP
  • VHAP - Vermont Medicaid
  • Catamount

The plan MUST be a Vermont-based plan. I can not accept, for instance, a BC/BS plan that originated in Mass. or NY. Co-payments usually apply. I can also accept other insurance plans not mentioned above as an out-of-network Provider.

MediCare:

I can not accept Medicare. This is not my decision. Medicare is a federal program and is not subject to the state legislature's mandate that all insurance carriers in Vermont offer Naturopathic coverage. If you have Vermont Medicaid, Cigna, or BC/BS as a secondary insurance I can most likely see you and bill your secondary plan. However, this involves first billing Medicare for a denial. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING THE DENIAL NOTICE AFTER YOUR VISIT. Here is how it works:

1. You pay the amount below for your visit at the time of the visit.

2. You will recieve from us the proper paperwork to file for your Medicare denial

3. Once you obtain that denial, submit it to us and we can then bill your secondary insurance.

4. Any payment we get from the secondary company is yours.

Payments:

If you do not have insurance, or want to pay out of pocket, the following charges apply and are subject to change without notice. These charges only apply to those paying out of pocket and NOT having us file for insurance reimbursement. If we do submit your bill to your insurance, and you have a high deductable or are otherwise responsible for payment, the amount charged for the visit will likely exceed the prices below. This is because we file codes to your insurance company that they then use to determine the cost - once we file your bill, the cost is out of our hands and is set by your insurance plan.
